Promoting Work Health Safety (WHS) in Navitas Professional Services




Work health safety (WHS) is one of the most essential factors that contribute to employees' motivation, efficiency, and mental health being in the workplaces, especially for new recruits. There are numerous ways to encourage all employees to understand the importance of WHS but this article will only comprise of main points that most likely to occur or encounter while in workplaces.

1. Procedures and guidelines

Before entering any working environment including office working environments, which are always being neglected or underestimated mostly, employees need to read the company's guidelines and procedures. These documents contain most of the appropriate step-by-step activities that need to be executed precisely when a hazard occurs in order to protect the employees' safety both physically and mentally. Additionally, these documents have been constructed by the company's employees who have experienced all of the hazards in the working places. Thus, it is crucial to read the provided company's guidelines and procedures thoroughly; otherwise, the consequences will be grim. 2. Wearing Personal Protective Equipment or PPE


In some workplaces, there are certain numbers of jobs that are required the employees to wear the PPE so as to protect them from harm. The PPE can be gloves, goggles or masks, etc. As long as the PPE protects the wearers from any physical harm, they are guarantee risk-free. However, it is recommended to have trained with the PPE first before officially carrying out any tasks.

3. WHS Training

From what has been mentioned above, it is essential to have a training session for the new-coming employees. By providing the training, not only the employees know what they need to do while performing any tasks from low to high-risk level but also a chance for them to adapt to the companies' working procedure, culture, and rules. 4. Respect

If an employee wants to have a friendly working environment, it is advisable to respect everyone not only in the companies but also people outside of the companies because it is one of the most factors in creating a mutual and solid relationship between people and people. However, if any bullying or harassing behaviors keep on occurring in the workplace, do not make yourself being unheard, let them know, let everyone know that you do not like being bullied or harassed so that everyone will know how those actions impact you negatively. If the situations get out of control, it is recommended to consult with the higher managers or board of executives or any officers who are in charge of WHS. No one likes non-friendly, demotivating, or stressful working places. Therefore, if you are feeling like you are being offended, let everyone know that you are uncomfortable with or consult with the WHS Officers if things cannot be controlled. In conclusion, the importance of WHS is prominent, and the way that it creates a friendly, risk-free, stress-free, and motivating working environment should not be neglected or ignored.
